One of Viva Cuba’s supporters and Cuba, Missouri’s pioneer businesses McGinnis Wood Products is featured in the February 2011 Rural Missouri article “World wide wood” by Paul Hagey and Kyle Spradley.

The family-operated business sponsored Viva Cuba’s Apple Mural, with its emphasis on the early 1900s apple industry when “Apples were King” and shipped around the country in barrels. Today, the barrels themselves are a major industry in Cuba.

The McGinnis cooperage ships barrels all over the U.S. and to every country in the world, and we are happy to feature the civic-minded McGinnis family and their modern barrel business.

Rural Missouri also produced a video The Making of a Bourbon Barrel, where one of the McGinnis sons Jack discusses how McGinnis Wood produces barrels.
