Viva Cuba’s annual Chair-i-table Auction on Saturday, May 8 at Java.net Books & Gifts brought out the bidders to raise over $2200. A live auction directed by volunteer Ed Fadler at 12:00 followed by the end of the silent auction at 1:00 pm sent several pieces of furniture to new homes with the winning bidders. The sale of the artist-painted furniture funds the season’s mural maintenance projects.

Volunteer auctioneer Ed Fadler helped the bids along.

Artist JoAnn Kargus visits Cuba in May to maintain the Al West mural. In June, artist Don Gray of Oregon travels to Cuba to do some repair and maintenance on the Civil War Murals.

Projects such as the Auction, Chili cook-off, and the Yuletide House Tour raise money for this maintenance, and Viva Cuba appreciates the community’s support for these events.

At the end of the event, the figures were tallied, and over $2200 was raised for mural maintenance in Cuba, MO.
