Luck of the Irish hits Viva Cuba Garden....for awhile... - Cuba, MO

This leprechaun spread luck around the Viva Cuba Garden during his short-lived appearance.

Cuba, MO “Route 66 Mural City”: As the sun crept down Route 66 and peeped over the old Midway Building at the intersection of Route 66 and Hwy. 19, a green aura grew and deepened over the Viva Cuba Garden. The roses bloomed although it was too early for them. The pot of gold glistened, and the Viva Cuba Garden was filled with a magical presence. A whimsical leprechaun presided over the gold as if he would be soon be passing it out to passing motorists on their way to work, school, or daily errands. A unicorn wandered around nibbling the freshly sprouted shamrocks.

But the illusive moments didn’t last. The roses receded until a more seasonal time. The little green guy and his gold vaporized before our eyes, and the corner returned to its everyday status.

But for a moment, possibilities existed for magic. Remember that possibility and may the day bring you the “Luck of the Irish.”
