Joe Nichols is headlining at this year’s Crawford County Fair on Saturday night, and the good looking country singer of “Tequila Makes My Clothes Fall Off,” is generating excitement. But this year, for the hometown crowd, the opening act is building interest too.

Linnea Sanazaro who graduated from Cuba High School and then traveled to Los Angeles to study singing, dancing, and acting and to perfect her pop music act will be opening for the Saturday night headliner on Saturday, July 13th at 8:00 pm.

Linnea is only 23, but she has paid her dues with study and many music gigs in the LA area. Recently she performed in Nashville, is in talks with a record label, and is about to release a new single and video “I’m Bad.”

Even those she has been living in the “big city,” she declares that she is a hometown girl with small town roots. She loves her large Italian family and gets back to Cuba every chance that she can.

In this radio interview, Linnea speaks of those hometown roots and her love for performing.

Her performance at the fair came about with the aid of another homeowner, Patti Donahoe, owner of Applause Entertainment in Nashville, who represents Linnea. She also works with Outback Concerts to book national music groups. Linnea has had a dream to perform at the Crawford County Fair since she was a young girl who loved the fair and everything about it, so she asked Donahoe if she could get her a booking performing at the fair.  Linnea stated, “I thought that I would be on a side stage somewhere.” She also laughed that she had won the Princess Contest in 1995, and now she would be returning to the stage. Dreams do come true.

Linnea's first time on the main stage was when she won the Princess Contest in 1995. She was escorted by Kevin Mullally.

Donahoe first asked the Fair Board if they would be interested in having Linnea open for Saturday night’s headliner. They said that yes, and then Donahoe had to clear it with Joe Nichols’s management team. Country acts as a rule do not mix the country and pop genres, and they said no.  But when it was explained to them that Linnea was a hometown girl and that this had been her dream, Joe Nichols graciously broke with tradition and said yes. Linnea was thrilled when she found that she would not only perform at the fair but would also open for Joe Nichols.

Cuba’s hometown girl Linnea will be taking the big stage at 8:00 pm to warm up the audience for Joe Nichols. With her high energy dancing and singing,  the stage will sizzle.
