Julie Nixon Krovicka Koala Outback Baby

South St. Louis artist Julie Nixon Krovicka’s “Koala Outback Baby” is ready to welcome a younger member of the Cuba community.

More chairs arrive daily at the collection point for Viva Cuba’s annual Chair-i-table Auction. Today, we are featuring two chairs by St. Louis aritsts with Cuba ties.

Jule Nixon Krovicka is a South St. Louis professional artist who graduated from Cuba High School. Krovicka completes commissions in Cuba and the St. Louis area, and we are lucky to have her “Koala Outback Baby” in this year’s auction.

They don’t get much cuter than this Koala.

Another Cuba High School graduate Kathy Fleming Mead is a recreational artist from St. Louis. Kathy re-caned this traditional wooden chair and painted flowers on it for her “Ukrainian Spring” creation. Its basic black frame will make an attractive accent piece.

Bids for all of the Silent Auction Chairs can be placed at the Route 66 Mural City Party on May 14 at the Knights of Columbus Hall.

“Ukrainian Spring” in black will add elegance to someone’s home.
