Artists Fleming and Manion creations spike interest in auction…
Viva Cuba has a tradition of holding its annual Chair-i-table Auction fundraiser on the Saturday before Mother’s Day. But this year will be an exception to that tradition. The silent auction for the artist designed furniture will be incorporated into the Route 66 Mural City Party (Rt.66MCP) on Saturday, May 14 at the Cuba, Missouri Knights of Columbus Hall.
But you can still buy a piece of custom designed furniture by bidding on these one of a kind creations. As we receive the artist’s chairs, stools, and tables, we will preview them in the community before the Rt.66MCP. We’ll also give you a peek at them in this blog.
Here’s a couple that we think you will like.
*Viva Cuba member Marge Fleming used her creative skills to feature a couple of hometown favorities: Fredbird and the Cardinals. This colorful child’s rocker will please the younger Cardinal’s fans and set them on the right path to fandom.
*Our next artist is new to the Chair-i-table Auction. During a career in business, Bill Manion continued to study art with friends from around the country while he built his own personal art collection. Now he has moved back to Missouri and works from his art studio overlooking the Lake of the Ozarks. He has painted a stool called “The Connoisseur’s Toadstool.”
As he painted his character of The Connoisseur on the top of the stool, his fun loving and wine drinking toads took over the bottom.
Read about the toads in Bill Manion’s own words below.
More artists’ work for the Chair-i-table Auction will be previewed in the weeks head. Purchase your ticket to the May 14 Rt66MCP soon as there will be only 300 sold.
