These two spacious antique malls sit side-by-side just off I-44.

Take I-44 Exit 208 at Cuba, Missouri. If you are coming from St. Louis turn right (if you are coming from Springfield, turn left) on the overpass. Then make a left at the stop light onto the service road or Hwy.DD. Very soon, you will spot the tops of these two buildings sitting-side-by-side on your right. If you are an antique or collectible hunter, your pulse will quicken when you spot Two Olde Crowes Antiques and Lone Star Antiques sitting side by side.

Both business showcase collectibles and antiques of all types and have row after row of vendor booths. They are both clean and well organized and should give collectors or casual lookers a nostalgic look at the past.

TWO OLDE CROWES ANTIQUES

The first building with the large Antiques sign on the roof is Two Olde Crows Antique Mall, and it is open every day of the week until 5:00 in the winter and 6:00 in the summer. “If we still have people looking at closing, we stay and don’t make people leave,” stated one of the owners. After checking out the antique malls, look at the colorful transportation murals (classic cars, streamliner trains, big rigs, and delivery/service trucks) inside the atrium of Midwest Petroleum Travel Plaza. Stop at the Visitor Center located across from Country Kitchen for brochures and directions for Viva Cuba’s 12 outdoor murals in the historic district and the Guinness World’s Largest Rocking Chair (42′) on Route 66.

Take a break for lunch in one of Cuba’s restaurants. Check out the two RobertvWadlow shoes, sizes 37 and 35, (the giant of Alton) at the Hayes Shoe Store. Snap photos on Route 66 of the Historic Landmark Wagon Wheel Motel, an iconic local motel since the 1930s.
