Heeding the call for Cuba businesses to help with the effort to clean up Cuba’s streets and neighboords, Erik Lowes, owner of Lowes Landscaping, took the initiative of attending the last Viva Cuba meeting and committing to cleaning up around the old Industiral Park sign.
“I intended to do this yesterday on Earth Day, but we got too busy,” stated Lowes, who took over the landscaping business from his dad and brother four years ago.
On Friday, Lowes and his three man crew, during a light mist, worked on cutting away brush and raking debris from the neglected area in the Industrial Park South. The group also trimmed bushes as much they could at this time of year without damaging them. Some of the old bushes will need to be removed.
When the area was cleaned, the old neglected sign was revealed. All three industrial parks are to receive new signs that clearly label the parks with a consistent and much improved appearance as part of the plan to attract new businesses and jobs to Cuba.
Viva Cuba thanks Erik Lowes and his crew for their work toward a better Cuba. A bonus to this project is that Erik Lowes has also committed to being a permanent member of Viva Cuba.
