It is interesting to know what people think of our town when they don’t know we know what they are thinking. Did you get that?
Today, I ran across a travel blog entry online by a 34 year-old named Doug from Washington,D.C. He is accompanied by someone named Yummy.
His blog had an entry about visiting the World’s Biggest Rocking Chair on Route 66 and the murals. He posted a photo of the rocker. I wonder how many of those are out there?
I had to laugh as he wrote:
Cuba, Missouri is lousy with murals. They’re everywhere.
I don’t think “lousy with murals” was meant as a criticism. I think it was just a colorful way of describing a lot of murals.
He did go on to mention that Cuba was worth traveling some extra miles to go through the town.
Dan sure was smart when he built that rocker to boost his business. Those murals weren’t a bad idea either.
It’s nice to feel the love.
You can see the entry here.
we are travellers from Australia who love Route 66 and love Cuba. We made two stops there in September 09 including visiting the Rocker (for the first time).
