Part of the Viva Cuba Mural Project has to do with promoting the murals, our town of Cuba, Missouri, and events that will be taking place.  We are lucky enough to have a small motel tourism tax in Cuba that gives us funds for advertising.  The tax provides funds for the mural brochures that are available at the Visitor Center and around town.

Above you can see one of our ads that was in a fall Day Trip Supplement  for the Kirkwood/Webster/ & South Country Times.   These supplements go out to over 70 thousand readers and spread the word about Cuba’s attractions. There is also an accompanying article about Cuba “Family fun in the Ozarks” with the ad. Past ads have brought folks to town.

This ad gives the Chamber of Commerce website and the Viva Cuba website that provide  additional information on events and attractions.

Saturday, September 12 The Lions Club sponsors an excellent Classic Car Show with great cars and great food.  Go to the Chamber of Commerce website for details.

The above ad  features the Cuba Fest the third weekend of October in the Smith Street/Recklein Commons area.  It is a great event if it will be your first experience with Cuba.  Food, crafts, music, and other activities take place on both days.

On Saturday, Viva Cuba’s Chili Cook-Off offers some of our best chili chefs competing for the “Queen of the Chili” title.  This year, past Crawford County Fair Queens and their mothers are contestants.

On Saturday, the 1904-style red trolley takes folds on a narrated tour of the murals. Every mural has a story, and you will hear them all.

On Sunday, there will be the first ever tour of the Kinder Cemetery on the same trolley.  During the “Echoes from the Past” tour characters from Cuba’s history will provide dramatic stories from the past. Both Saturday and Sunday tours feature information on some of Cuba’s historic buildings.. Trolley tours are free and paid for by the tourism tax.  They are popular events so get signed up early as they are a limited amount of tours available each day.

Come to Cuba and see what we have to offer. Stay a day or two and enjoy many of the area’s attractions.  You might want to read the post 18 Things to Do  in Cuba before you arrive.
