Usually this blog is about Viva Cuba and its beautification work. But this week, I have to share a feature in the Sullivan Journal about Nancy Boyster because she epitomizes city beautification on a personal level.
This week Will Sites wrote an article about Nancy Boyster and her one-person crusade to beautify Sullivan in the Sullivan Journal. It is a story we can all take to heart. Whether you are a city official, a business person, a student, or a citizen, we all have something to learn from Nancy.
Will Sites tells it best in his feature story, and you can hear Nancy in her own words in the video by Paige Hulsey, a videojournalist interning from Drake University.
Read the full story and see the video here.
After reading Nancy’s story and hearing her words, remember her advice.
Nancy Boyster’s Ideas For A Better Community:
*Volunteer. Get out and do something positive.
*Help your neighbor.
*Report problems, don’t ignore them.
*Seek help from the city or businesses.
*Believe that you are making things better
*Leave a clean path. Don’t litter.
Amen to that.
