Trolley Tours and Chili Cook-Off on the 3rd weekend of October
During the annual Cuba Fest, the 3rd weekend in October, Viva Cuba members provide narrated tours of the murals aboard a 1904-style motorized trolley.The bright red trolley is a fun way to find out more about the “Route 66 Mural City.”
Board the trolley by the Catholic Church at Recklein Commons on Smith and School Streets.The trolley travels by each of the murals along the Route 66 Corridor, and riders hear the stories behind each of the murals. Tours take about 1/2 hour. The Cuba Tourism Tax pays for bringing the trolley to Cuba, and Viva Cuba members volunteer their time for the tours.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.Check times closer to the event.For the 2009 Cuba Fest,Viva Cuba will offer tours on both Saturday and Sunday, starting at 11:30 am. Visit the Cuba Chamber of Commerce for event details.
While waiting for the trolley tour, take advantage of Viva Cuba’s annual Chili Cook-Off starting at 11:00. Cuba’s best chili chefs will vie for the top chef designation.
